UAE. Suraj Aneed became the 350th winner of the hugely popular Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire series, as the latest US$1 million prize draw was held today.

The 35-year-old Indian expat won the grand prize when his ticket, bought online on 20 January, was drawn by Dubai Duty Free management at DXB (Dubai International) Concourse B.

A resident of Abu Dhabi for five years, the father of one who works as customer service officer for First Abu Dhabi Bank, said: “I cannot believe that I won with my fourth only ticket to the Dubai Duty Free promotion. True enough it’s never too late to start and one should never lose hope. Thank you Dubai Duty Free. I will start a business in India and give some to charities.”

Aneed is the 175th Indian national to have won US$1 million since the start of the Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999. Indian nationals make up the highest number of Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire ticket buyers.

This week’s draws were conducted following social distancing by Dubai Duty Free’s Executive Vice Chairman & CEO Colm McLoughlin, Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Cidambi, Executive Vice President – Corporate Services Salah Tahlak, SVP – Marketing Sinead El Sibai and Manager, Human Resources & Services & Emiratization Administrator Mona Al Ali.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, the Finest Surprise draw was conducted. Rinshad Ali, a 32-year-old Indian national based in Muscat, Oman won an Indian Vintage Darkhorse (Thunder Black Smoke) motorbike. He had bought his ticket online on 16 January, just the second ticket he had purchased for the Dubai Duty Free promotion.
